About O-Rings
An O–Ring is a mechanical gasket which is in the torus shape. This o-Ring is a loop of elastomer with a round cross section which is designed to be fitted in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts. This will create a seal at the interface. This O-Ring is also called as a Packing or Toric Joint.
These O-Rings are used in applications where relative motion is created between the parts and the o-Ring. Some of the applications of O-Rings in dynamic applications include rotating pump shafts and hydraulic cylinder pistons.
