Dense Castables

Dense Castables are hydraulically bonded refractory mixes designed to be cast into complex shapes and high-load structural linings where maximum density, strength, and slag resistance are required. Imperial World Trade supplies dense castable grades engineered for industries where lining failure is simply not an option — from steel reheating furnaces to petrochemical reactor walls. Mixed with a controlled quantity of water and vibration-cast into position, these products cure to form a monolithic structure with predictable, high-performance thermal properties.

  • High Density: Low apparent porosity minimizes slag and gas infiltration, extending lining service life.
  • Alumina Range: Available from 45% to 70% Al₂O₃ to match varying temperature and chemical requirements.
  • High Cold Crushing Strength (CCS): Structural integrity maintained even under heavy mechanical loads post-firing.
  • Versatile Application: Suitable for furnace floors, walls, roofs, and burner block surrounds.
  • Easy Casting: Optimized particle size distribution allows smooth flow during vibration casting with minimal water addition.
  • Thermal Stability: Maintains volume stability and strength at sustained operating temperatures up to 1,650°C.

Dense castables from Imperial World Trade are supplied with a full Technical Data Sheet covering CCS, PLC, bulk density, and maximum service temperature for every batch dispatched.
