Efficiency in an induction furnace is heavily dependent on effective thermal management. Water Cooled Cables (Secondary Cables) are the critical link between the power supply and the furnace coil. Because these cables carry massive amounts of current while moving with the furnace during tilting, they must be both electrically superior and mechanically flexible.
Imperial World’s water-cooled cables are manufactured using high-purity, multi-strand electrolytic copper rope. This design maximizes the surface area for current flow while maintaining the flexibility needed for thousands of tilting cycles. The outer hose is constructed from high-quality, non-conductive rubber that is resistant to heat, abrasion, and internal water pressure.
Our cables feature precision-machined Copper Terminals that are hydraulically swaged or soldered to ensure a low-resistance connection, preventing hotspots at the contact points. We also offer specialized “carbon-free” hoses to eliminate the risk of electrical leakage to the ground.
