Slide Gate Plate
As the actual moving interface of the flow control system, Slide Gate Plates are subjected to perhaps the most extreme conditions in the steel plant. They must maintain a perfectly flat, liquid-tight seal while being exposed to molten steel temperatures exceeding 1600°C.
Imperial World offers high-grade Slide Gate Plates crafted from Alumina-Carbon and Zirconia-toughened materials. These plates are engineered for maximum resistance to thermal shock, ensuring they do not crack during the sudden transition from ambient to molten temperatures. The surfaces are precision-ground to a mirror finish to ensure that the sliding action is smooth and free of leaks.
Our plates are designed to resist chemical erosion from aggressive slag and oxygen-lancing. We offer various grades tailored to specific steel types, including those with high manganese or calcium content, which are notoriously hard on refractory surfaces.
