Ladle Lining Bricks
The internal lining of a steel ladle is its only defense against the corrosive and thermal onslaught of molten metal and slag. Imperial World’s Ladle Lining Bricks are engineered to provide a durable, long-lasting barrier that survives the intense chemical reactions of secondary refining.
We specialize in Alumina-Magnesia-Carbon (AMC) bricks, which have become the industry standard for modern ladles. The inclusion of magnesia provides exceptional resistance to basic slags, while the carbon content prevents the penetration of molten steel into the brick structure, significantly reducing “spalling.” For the bottom and impact zones, we provide high-alumina bricks designed to withstand the physical force of the initial metal pour.
Our bricks are manufactured with low porosity and high density to ensure minimal wear-and-tear per heat. By optimizing the brick composition for specific zones—such as the slag line or the side walls—we help steelmakers achieve a balanced wear profile across the entire ladle. This results in fewer relining cycles and a lower refractory cost-per-ton, all while maintaining the thermal insulation necessary to prevent the ladle’s outer steel shell from overheating. Imperial World bricks ensure longevity and metallurgical stability in every heat.
